The Rule of Technology

“Software has eaten the world”. There are very few bastions left which are yet not impacted by technology. The speed at which technology is getting diffused in various aspects of our lives is pretty amazing, and scary as well. It almost is a magic world which has both good and evil forces fighting each other.

Who are you betting on to win? Well, my endeavor with this blog series is to discuss, debate and ponder upon the key questions which this unprecedented change brought over by technology have presented themselves to human kind- well it will be with a twist, a somewhat different treatment to this subject. Part fact, part fiction.

Is AI good? Do we wait with happy anticipation Singularity, at what point machines will have sentience similar to human beings. What would be the repercussions of this event on human kind? Would Synthetics take over the world and we would be forced in exile(well maybe to colonies at Mars?). Will we be able to prolong human lives and break the barrier of 100 years consistently? If yes, how would that occur and in what shape? Will we be who we are now or there will be artificial limbs attached which work in sync with natural parts or we would have become GOD by decoding the human Genome and reverse the cell- degeneration process or aging. These questions are just tip of the ice berg. Let us jump on this bandwagon and see where this journey to understand emerging technologies and its impact on society, culture, politics, geography, economy and nature itself is. Maybe we find a few answers together. Maybe it remains a quest to be conquered. Maybe we fail. Maybe we are doomed.

But let’s try…
